About the calculation
Moonsighting Committee method
The Moonsighting Committee (moonsighting.com) method uses an 18° Fajr depression angle with seasonal corrections for higher latitudes, and a calculated Isha based on red-twilight disappearance. It is widely recommended for accuracy outside the equatorial belt and avoids the unnaturally late Isha times that some fixed-angle methods produce in summer.

The site picks the calculation method that is standard for your region, detected entirely on your device from your coordinates (nothing is sent anywhere):
- Umm al-Qura — the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen): 18.5° Fajr, fixed 90-minute Isha
- Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE (Dubai) — each Gulf state's own official method
- Egyptian General Authority — North Africa, the Levant, and Iraq
- Diyanet — Turkey · Muslim World League — Iran
- Karachi (University of Islamic Sciences) — Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan
- Singapore (MUIS) — Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei
- ISNA — North America

A note on local conventions
Calculated times are estimates. The Sunnah is to rely on actual sighting where possible, but for daily prayers, calculated times work reliably and have been used by Muslim communities for centuries. If your local mosque uses a different convention, follow theirs. This page is a tool, not a substitute for the local jama'ah.
